Traffic Signals – Received some calls this week regarding the left turn at Sycamore and Seminole Pratt Whitney Road. I reached out to the County to extend the left turn time spacing to help with traffic flows.
The old emergency signal for the old fire station location is expected to be removed and the curb cut closed in the next thirty to forty-five days.
Solid Waste Issues – We are experiencing some issues with the hauler regarding fees collected. The hauler is sending invoices to some homeowners who have paid for the current year at their closing. I have had staff go back and analyze every CO and closing for the past year and a half. We are working with the hauler to reconcile their records and the City’s.
Seminole Pratt Whitney Road – The contractor is expected to move to the center of the road in the next several weeks to complete the medians. The project is progressing well.
Home Development –We were notified today that Minto has sold a total of 500 homes. Sky Cove has sold 20 homes thus far. We will shortly be processing the next POD of single-family homes which will be known as the Groves.
FPL – FPL began relocating the two incorrectly located switch cabinets just south of Persimmon and Seminole Pratt Whitney Road today. The FPL solar field panels are almost complete, and FPL is installing the perimeter fence around the property. With any luck the solar field should be in operation in the next 90 days or so.
Land Development Regulations – Staff is continuing to work on the LDR’s for the upcoming council meetings.
Roads –
• Ilex way is approximately 60% bottomed in. The next step is to install all the drainage and other utilities.
• The first phase of Persimmon east has the first lift of asphalt on.
• The second phase of Persimmon east is progressing well.
• Persimmon west phase 1 is starting to be worked on. This will allow access to 7-11 2.0 west of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road.
• Kingfisher between Town Center Parkway North and Town Center Parkway South is expected to begin construction in the next sixty days
County Issues – We received a letter from the meeting with the County in January. I have requested additional information from the County in preparation of conference calls and meetings to determine need and location of facilities.
State Road 7 – It is my understanding that TPA reinstated the SR7 projects for the widening and connection of SR7 from Okeechobee Road to Northlake into the long range road plans yesterday at their meeting.
