Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus Funds (CDBG-CV) Mortgage Assistance Program (Round 2)

AVAILABLE FUNDING: $1,900,000
GRANT MAXIMUM AWARD: $10,000
(Up to six (6) months mortgage and/or HOA payments, but not to exceed $10,000). Assistance will be awarded as a grant or forgivable loan.
ELIGIBLE MORTGAGE ASSISTANCE: Funding will provide assistance to income eligible households who are at least one month (30 days) delinquent in their first mortgage and escrow payments (PITI), late fees, condominium and homeowners’ association payments, special assessments, and other mortgage associated costs related to COVID-19.
NOTE: If required assistance exceeds $10,000, applicant(s) will be required to pay the difference, when they are notified of the amount approved by Palm Beach County.

APPLICANT SELECTION CRITERIA: Applications will be accepted on a first come, first qualified, first served basis, subject to funding availability.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: At the time of application submittal, applicant must be able to provide the following documents:
- Proof of loss of income, reduction in hours, or unemployment as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, on or after March 1, 2020;
- Copy of most recent paycheck stub for applicant, co-applicant and ALL working adult household members (OR) a current completed verification of employment (VOE) within 30 days of submission of application;
- If Self Employed, a completed 2021 YTD profit and loss statement for applicant, co-applicant and ALL working adult household members and most recent two (2) years tax returns;
- Copy of most recent social security, retirement and/or disability award letter for applicant, co-applicant and ALL household members;
- Copy of valid drivers’ license or state identification for applicant, co-applicant and ALL adult household members;
- Copy of court ordered child support documentation/ALL appropriate legal documentation for adoption, divorce, battered spouse and restraining order for all applicable household members;
- Copy of most recent bank statements, (OR) current completed verification of deposit for applicant, co-applicant and ALL adult household members;
- Most recent mortgage payment statement showing proof of the applicant’s 30+ days delinquency; and
- Copy of homeowners’/condominium association 30+ days delinquent statement (if applicable).
NOTE: Mortgage and HOA payments must have been current as of February 29, 2020. Individuals with a forbearance and/or mortgage modification plan in place will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Homeowners who received first mortgage financing through Palm Beach County Department of Housing and Economic Development, are not eligible to participate in this program.
- Property must be applicant(s) primary residence.
- Property must be located in Palm Beach County.
- Applicants’ Assessed value of their property may not exceed $331,888 (current maximum sales price for PBC housing programs)
- Applicants who already received mortgage and/or HOA assistance through the CDBG-CV Program (Round 1), are not eligible to apply.
