Tax Collector Gannon Receives National Award

Tax Collector honored at National Conference

West Palm Beach, Fla. – Constitutional Tax Collector Anne M. Gannon has received national honors from the National Association of County Collectors, Treasurers and Finance Officers (NACCTFO).  The association awarded Gannon with its “Outstanding County Collector, Treasurer of Finance Officer Award,” at its annual conference on July 25, 2023.  The organization presents the distinguished annual award to a person who “…serves as a leader in their home state and as a professional of the highest caliber in the operation of their own county office.”

Gannon was recognized for revamping the agency’s antiquated bureaucracy into an award-winning client focused service agency.  The NACCTFO noted her dedication to providing exceptional client service, improving agency processes, and increasing operation efficiencies.

Gannon has a rich, distinguished, and diverse record of public service in Florida.  First elected to the Florida Legislature in 2000 and served through 2006, when she was then elected by an overwhelming majority as the Constitutional Tax Collector, Serving Palm Beach County.

In her letter of recommendation, Congresswoman Lois J. Frankel said, “Anne M. Gannon has transformed her agency with modern technology and common sense.  She has taken the frustration out of things like renewing drivers licenses and paying taxes.  Anne is truly an innovator and leader.”

Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Wendy Sartory Link said in her nomination letter, “As a fellow constitutional officer in Palm Beach County, I know first-hand the impact Anne has made since she first took office as Tax Collector in 2006.  The precision she exhibits in collecting more than $4 billion in tax dollars and ultimately returning those dollars to the taxing authorities is extremely admirable and valuable to the residents of Palm Beach County.”

“I am honored to be recognized by the NACCTFO as 2023’s Outstanding County Collector and to be recognized for the agency’s commitment to delivering exceptional service to the residents of Palm Beach County,” said Gannon. “This recognition would not have been possible without our dedicated team of 320 employees whose mission is to provide unparalleled service that inspires trust.”

Established in 1954, the National Association of County Collectors, Treasurers and Finance Officers (NACCTFO) is a professional organization whose objective is to assist its members to better serve local, state, and national government through professional growth while developing a higher level of service efficiency and character to both the general public and county government.
