Westlake City Council
The City of Westlake is a Council-Manager form of Government. It is the City Managers responsibility to recommend & implement policies enacted by the City Council. The City Council is elected by the residents of the city in a general election process. The Mayor and Council Members are elected to a four year term. Meet the Westlake City Council below
Mayor, Roger Manning | Term Expires: 2022
Mayor Roger Manning grew up in the Town of Bristol, Vermont where he continued his education in Middlebury, Vermont. Roger subsequently moved to Palm Beach County for the warmer climate. He attended Small Business Management courses at Palm Beach State College. Since moving to Palm Beach County in 1980, Roger has worked in the printing industry in Lake Worth, Florida. He ventured out and acquired his own business in 1992, which is now Banyan Printing Group. Roger has been a successful business owner for over twenty-four years.
Roger is very active in his community. He is a past member of the Lake Worth Rotary, member and Chairman of the Sacred Heart Home and School Board, a current member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Advisory Board, a member of the Central Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce, serving as a Board member.
Roger spends his spare time enjoying precious moments with his grandson, Nathan, and his son, Johnathan. He strongly believes in giving back to the community in which he lives. It is with this spirit of community that Roger decided to serve as the Mayor for the City of Westlake, Florida.
Vice Mayor, Katrina Long Robinson - Seat #4 | Term Expires: 2022
Katrina Long-Robinson is currently a Curriculum Resource Specialist with Charter Schools USA. She is responsible for assisting school administrators and teachers in understanding curricular programs; Florida Standards and implications for best classroom practices; disseminating and interpreting current trends and research related to curriculum; instruction, technology, and related areas; assisting school personnel in the collection and analysis of data for assessment, evaluation, and decision-making; assisting teachers in implementing effective instructional strategies. While working for Charter Schools USA, Katrina has been nominated several times for Educator of the Year and has implemented several literacy and Teacher incentive programs. She currently serves as a Quest observer with Charter Schools USA for schools in Palm Beach and Broward County.
Currently, as the Vice Mayor of Westlake, Katrina has been an advocate for affordable housing and is responsible for helping to create an affordable housing program offered by Minto Development for teachers, police officers, fire rescue workers, state attorney’s, and public defenders. She has also organized Toy Drives which provided toys to under-privileged children in Palm Beach County, as well as hosted two Hurricane Irma relief events during her tenure as councilwoman.
Katrina has previously worked for Palm Beach County School District as an Aftercare Director and school teacher. After the death of her husband, her accomplishments include, but are not limited to, Founder and CEO of The Douglas G. Robinson Pancreatic Cancer & Empowerment Foundation. This Foundation offers African American male students the opportunity to earn a scholarship for higher education. Katrina’s tireless advocacy led her to institute "Hype Night" which was a development and outreach event targeting community youth. She also instituted a weekend-long Youth Explosion which catapulted into a community-wide event bringing together over 200 youth and parents over a three-day period for workshops, a basketball tournament, and a midnight musical.
Katrina attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), where she majored in Elementary Education. She also holds a certificate in Urban Youth Ministries from Palm Beach Atlantic University.
She is the proud mother of one daughter, Jasmine Holland, who attends Florida A&M University. Today, Katrina encourages young girls and boys to study hard and always be willing to make adjustments in life, no matter how great.
Katrina is also a member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. and West Palm Beach Leadership Class of 2018, and the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches, Florida.
Councilman, John Stanavitch - Seat #1 | Term Expires: 2020
John Stanavitch has been a long time resident of Florida, relocating to Palm Beach county in 1979 where he attended local public schools. John continued his educational pursuits by attending college at Florida State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Political Science.
John returned to Palm Beach County after graduation where he enjoys fishing and boating with his wife of ten years. They are avid dog lovers who appreciate spending time with their chocolate Labrador.
John Stanavitch has been employed for over twenty years in the sales industry, providing cleaning supplies and paper products to businesses throughout Palm Beach County. As a member of the City Council for the City of Westlake, John is very enthusiastic to utilize his knowledge obtained while earning his degree in Political Science.
Councilwoman, Kara Krump - Seat 2 | Term Expires: 2022
Kara Crump is a Radiologic Technologist/Medical Assistant for a medical office in Jupiter, Florida. Kara has enjoyed working in the medical field for the past ten years. She attended public schools in Palm Beach County, Florida. After graduation from public school, Kara attended Palm Beach State College where she earned an Associates of Arts Degree.
Kara enjoys spending time outdoors, enjoying the beautiful natural habitats and water resources Florida has to offer by fishing and boating in her spare time. She has a passion for nature and protecting the environmental resources she enjoys throughout Palm Beach County.
It is with great pleasure and honor that Kara Crump has the opportunity to serve as a transitional council member for the City of Westlake. As a resident of the City of Westlake, Kara is proud to serve as a City Council member for Palm Beach County’s thirty-ninth incorporated City.
Councilman, Phillip Everett - Seat #3 | Term Expires: 2020
Phillip Everett is a long time resident of Palm Beach County having grown up in the City of Belle Glade and a graduate of Glades Central High School. Phillip is an avid sports enthusiast. He participated in cross country track and wrestling during high school.
Phillip ventured into entrepreneurship by owning his own trucking company for several years in Palm Beach County. He is currently a store manager for an electrical supply company in Palm Beach County.
Phillip is the proud father of three beautiful children, who all attended public schools, with one still in the public school system. He currently enjoys riding his motorcycle when not engaged in sports. Phillip is honored to serve as a role model for his children as a representative member of the Westlake City Council.
